Head of Finance Part Time

Robert Walters Group: Public Sector Division – Head of Finance (Part Time) – Full Time Equivalent Salary £52,000 to £56,000 per annum

I currently have an exciting opportunity for a Part Time – Head of Finance to act as an integral part of an established team and will provide sound financial advice to the CEO and the Board. You will work closely with the Treasurer to provide required assurance to the Board of Trustees.

Role: Head of Finance

Hours: Part time between 22 hour and 27 hours depending on candidate

Type: Permanent

Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA (Fully Qualified)

Working Pattern: Hybrid – Birmingham base

Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for working in the women’s sector and promoting women’s rights – this will suit a fully established Head of Finance or a candidate looking to take their next step up

Highly Desirable Skillset: Knowledge of Resident Service Charges and SORP

Duties of the Part-Time Head of Finance:

• Provide sound financial advice to the CEO and Board of Trustees

• Offer a high quality and effective financial management service to the charity

• Prepare, develop and analyse management accounting information up to trial balance for end of year

• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial statutory and regulatory matters

• Management of one qualified direct report

• Oversee and lead on financial planning, budgeting and forecasting and the preparation of annual statutory accounts

• Develop strategic financial planning to ensure maximisation of business performance

• Report to CEO on significant financial variances

• Prepare financial analysis of new strategic directions, lead on providing financial analysis for business cases, working closely with senior colleagues

• Anticipate internal or external business challenges/regulatory issues and make recommendations

• Advise the CEO and senior leadership team on all matters relating to financial performance

• Treasury management in connection with cash and investments held by the charity

• Overall lead on all financial and accountancy matters review and develop delegations framework with respect to finance

• Lead, motivate and develop a high performing finance team

• Oversee annual external audit

• Liaise with and maintain a good working relationship with bankers, investment managers, auditors, and funders

• Keep up to date with financial developments across the sector, changes in requirements for charity reporting and changes in legislation
