Accounts Payable Team Leader
Walters People have partnered with a leading business based in West London who are looking for and experienced and driven Accounts Payable Team Leader on a permanent basis. You will manage a team of AP specialists ensuring the accuracy and timely processing and payment of all invoices in line with company policy and procedure.
Key Responsibilities as the Accounts Payable Team Leader:
• Ensure noncompliance issues are raised and resolved in a timely manner with internal partners and suppliers making available additional training / support to improve partner understanding where necessary.
• Take ownership of payment runs on a monthly / quarterly basis ensuring all payment data is agreed with the budget holders and billing is in accordance with this.
• Manage vendor payment relationship ensuring the supplier accounts are reconciled to statements; all supplier queries are logged, and AP email inbox’s queries promptly responded to.
• Reviewing of all month end activities with the Accounts Payable Manager including management of the PL / GL reconciliation; key Supplier Statement; Aged Creditors action plans & debit balance resolution.
• Assist in implementing new process that increased communication with vendors resulting in reduced late fees and smoother payment processing.
• Reconciliation of Intercompany balances and agreeing the balances monthly
• Measures and monitors key performance indicators and take appropriate actions.
• Assist in weekly and monthly Cash flow preparation as required.
• Makes recommendations to improve internal controls and develop accounting policies and procedures in support of changing business activities.
• Responding to internal and external Audit requests as required.
About you as the Accounts Payable Team Leader:
• Solid and extensive experience as an Accounts Payable supervisor in Shared Service function
• Demonstrated customer service skills with the Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing with accuracy and attention to detail
• Has clear understanding of the workflows
• Manage time effectively and adapts quickly to changing priorities
• Ability to recommend and aid implementation of process improvement
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment
