Global recruitment consultancy Robert Walters Group announced the launch of Walters People in Manchester today.

With a European presence lasting 15 years, the expansion into the North West marks the growth of Walters People into a national brand after launching just 6 months ago in London. The brand now has a presence in London, North Home Counties, North West and the West Midlands.

Walters People Manchester will serve the North West region and will initially focus on contract and permanent recruitment in accounting and finance, marketing, HR and business support fields.

The launch comes off the back of what has been a positive half year for the contract and interim job market, last year contract and interim job vacancies grew by 29% in Manchester – more than the capital London (19%). Notable growth areas in the regions were for interim roles in secretarial and business support (+24%), and HR (+32%).

In fact, a recent survey by Walters People found that almost half of professionals in Manchester (40%) would be open to switching to a contract, interim or temporary position.

According to Walters People insight, job vacancies in the North West increased last year by 27% in junior marketing and HR positions, and by 7% in secretarial and support positions.

Walters People Manchester will continue to build on the market leading reputation for recruitment within the accounting and finance field. In 2019, job vacancies increased by 15% in the accounting and finance sector when compared to the same period in 2018.
