Marketing Manager
Role: Marketing Manager Location: Leeds City Centre (Hybrid working) Role: Permanent Salary: up to £45,000
Purpose of the Marketing Manager:
- The Marketing & Account Manager's primary responsibility is to work alongside the Client Relationship Partner on specified clients to further develop the client relationship.
The purpose of the role is:
- To be the driver for maintaining and growing the relationship alongside the CRP, Strategic Client Partners and wider client service team
- Ensure that the company understand the needs of the client and translate this into activity that adds value to the relationship and therefore improves client loyalty
- To demonstrate, facilitate and drive best practice/behaviours in relation to strategic account planning
In addition, it is expected that the Marketing & Account Manager will lead, deliver or support other activities within that sector which progress the overall marketing & BD plan of the sector.
Key roles and responsibilities for Marketing Manager:
- Scoping the needs of clients so that we identify opportunities that add value to the client's business above and beyond the legal service we provide
- Understanding the client organisation, plotting the relationship map to help us understand how to broaden the relationship, and anticipating panel/ contract reviews through strategic positioning with the client where relevant
- Building personal relationships with identified client contacts, typically, procurement, know how, Panel managers.
- Attending relationship review meetings where appropriate
- Client feedback – Advocates for Independent Relationship Review Meetings, to gather client feedback annually with identified clients. Attends those meetings, where appropriate.
- Reporting value - Co-ordination and production of regular relationship review communications (bespoke to the needs of the client), in particular relationship review documents, demonstrating value-add
Wider marketing & BD responsibilities will be varied and might include:
- Account planning – implementing KAP light within the sector or PG and providing light-touch support to other priority clients of the sector. Taking lessons learnt through practical account development and via direct client contact and being prepared to share these with other CSTs.
- Campaigns – supporting on specific sector campaigns ensuring that there is a client focus to these campaigns and that a BD cycle follows.
- Project support – supporting (or leading on elements) projects that drive forward revenue growth within the sector or PG.
- Sharing sector and client issues – stay on top of sector issues and be a conduit for sharing these within the sector and wider firm community.
- Panel reviews – works alongside the bids team to deliver a compelling response and ensure that our proposition matches the needs of the client.

- Strong networking/relationship building skills – to ensure they build networks effectively both internally and externally.
- Willingness and ability to challenge – to drive better performance
- Strong listening skills – critical for delivering Client Care Meetings effectively
- Winning better business – to include experience of working on high value panel reviews and, ideally, client relationship management expertise.
- Commercial acumen - understand investment vs revenue opportunities and getting the balance right through the planning process.
- Facilitator – ability to facilitate client service team meetings to drive action and progress
- Communication skills – strong communicator (both verbally and written).
- Completer/finisher – ensures client needs/promises are delivered.
- Ability to work in agile way – across offices and locations to respond to the needs of clients and client partners
